If you want to learn how to speak italian, here are my reviews of the top online italian language software courses. In my opinion, the following are the best: Rocket Italian Language Software, Rosetta Stone Italian Language Software and Pimsleur Italian. There are more of course, such as Lingo Italian, How to Learn Any Language and Berlitz Italian and for children, Power Glide Italian. Some other Italian Langauge products on the market are Giovanna's Learning Italian Like Crazy, Performance Italian Language Learning Software, Surefire Italian Learning Package and Tell Me More Performance Italian.
My favorite was Rocket Italian. If you only have a few months to study Italian, then this program is for you.. It was a fun way to learn italian and effective.
The host and narrator, Alex Marino is funny and keeps things moving, he keeps the interactive Italian lessons light and humorous. He teams up with Rome native Maria DiLorenzi who's perfect and distinct roman accent will have you pronouncing italian words like a native.It will not take long before you can imagine yourself walking the street of Rome with Maria as your guide. She will become your virtual traveling companion in just a few lessons
The interaction between Alex and Maria will keep you engaged and focused. The program is entertaining which makes it easy to learn the language.
The Rocket Italian package includes 31 audio lessons, 31 grammar and cultural lessons and learning games. In summation, the program is Extremely effective and fun and the price of $99 is a steal (regular price $299: The limited sales price was still in effect). Their customer service is great also! The daily count of people worldwide who have chosen to learn with Rocket Languages is now: 352,510 (as of July, 2009).
Rosetta Stone Italian Language courses was the next software I looked at.. I was always fascinated by Rosetta Stone and their approach to teaching languages.

The Rosetta Stone Program is a bit pricey, but, it is well worth it. It is, by far, the most comprehensive and thorough Italian language course on the market.
Pimsleur Italian is ideal if you only want to learn everyday Italian. Pimsleur Italian's goal is to get you to speak Italian quickly. The course teaches you the most general vocabulary and grammar and teaches you ways to handle various ordinary social scenarios.
The pimsleur program uses Cds and is completely audio based.. So if you are an audio learner then you will benefit from this course, but for visual learners the program's one-dimensional approach may present a problem. I do suggest this course if you need a quick burst of the Italian language prior to a vacation to an Italian speaking country.
Pimsleur offers several products but their flagship program is the Italian Comprehensive Series. The Italian Comprehensive 1 Course is priced around $200. The entire Italian Comprehensive 1,2 and 3 package retails for $600. All Pimsleur products are available online.
